Middlebury Remote Sensing
Приєднався 28 січ 2014
In this course we will discuss fundamentals of air- and space-based remote sensing applied to geological and environmental problems. The core goal is to understand how different wavelengths of electromagnetic radiation interact with Earth's surface, and how images collected in these different wavelengths can be used to address questions in the Earth sciences. Lectures will present theory and basics of data collection as well as applications in hydrology, vegetation analysis, glaciology, tectonics, meteorology, oceanography, planetary exploration, and resource exploration. Labs will focus on commonly-used imagery and software to learn techniques for digital image processing, analysis and interpretation in Earth science.

Export a shapefile to .kmz in ArcGIS Pro (L6, V4)
Переглядів 5 тис.Рік тому
This video shows you how to export a shapefile to a .kmz file suitable for Google Earth and other applications. Adding a "name" field to the shapefile ensures the points are properly labeled when opened in Google Earth.
Create Ground Truth Points in ArcGIS Pro (L6, V3)
Переглядів 1,3 тис.Рік тому
This video uses the "create accuracy assessment points" tool in ArcGIS Pro to create a shapefile of ground truth points. It uses a sampling method of equalized stratified random sampling. Finally, it shows how to add XY coordinates and export to Excel.
Cleaning a raster with Region Group, SetNull, and Nibble tools in ArcGIS Pro (L6, V2)
Переглядів 2,3 тис.Рік тому
This video shows a simple workflow to reclassify small clusters of pixels in an integer raster. It first identifies small groups of pixels with RegioN Group, then creates a mask with SetNull, and replaces the pixel values with the Nibble tool.

Thank you for the explanation, please can we get a DEM from a multi-bands raster (RGB+NIR) or they have nothing to do with eachother?
Great video, thanks for your help. I'm just moving over from Arc Map to Arc GIS Pro so this really helped me out.
can we used this trick into dense vegetation area?
Hi! do you have anything for ArcGIS users?
Very easy to understand. Thank you!!!
Let me ask you a question. Let's assume that you are under Polaris, and as soon as you start walking away, measure your angle of elevation and distance between you and your starting point. Now, at what degree do you start taking into account the magnetic molten center of hell?
GOOD CLASS. my master studies says thank you and me as will.
Hi Will, for my case when I click HEGTool batch file, it crashes immediately. Any idea what is happening?
Awesome explanation
how about bathymetry data? is it include?
Eight years, and it is one of the best videos.
Many. Datum. Monument control. John.
How did you know what each value represented?
Thanks
why the result of my conversion is in swath format?
those are data only US ?
very cool stuff
10011011 its 155 or 248 ??
Excellent! great explanation!
Amazing explanation, thank you
Thank you very much, this cleared up a lot of confusion
Great content, thanks for uploading! Interesting concept to work around the map projection warping issue by splitting it into small separate zones
But when the reference surface is NOT flat! But have a difficult terrain! That mean your surface contain hundreds or thousands of different heights How can i do that!?
Brilliant explanation. Thank you very much!
A million thanks for your educational activities!
Thank you so much for the lessons. They are incomparable. It's a pity that I can't give a thousand likes!

Wow ❤
Merci pour la leçon.
Thank you for actually putting the steps in the description it makes it much easier omfg.
Its very very informative video. I would like to say thanks to creator. And will add 1 thing. The file path would not amended in command directly rather we have to right it in notepad and then copy to command
Great explanation! Thanks!
Thank you for posting this! It was quite helpful.
This video was incredibly helpful for my thesis! I had to clean up my raster data showing where puddles form after rain by subtracting a fill raster from the original height map. The resulting data had a massive amount of noise from single and small pixel clusters. These steps made the data a lot more useful and digestible!
Nicely explained!👍🏻
Thank you for this clear explanation.
I use QGIS 3.34, but the SCP has no band weight option, how can I change them then? Thanks.
Thanks alot👍❤️
Hi, appreciate the videos thanks a lot... Btw, how can I know/see the values of the pixels; so then I can decide the treshold value...
Thanks man! It may be simple to you, but little vids that show folks how to do stuff can continue to benefit people for years after they are made.
Great video the trick to changing the spectral plot label is to type over it and hit tab.
Thank you so much for this tip. Also thank you to the channel. It has helped a lot to do my uni assignment!
Nice work thanks
You skipped the most important step.... This creates a separate legend window but does not actually add it into the map. How do you add it to the map? I tried save and also export and nothing happens (i.e. there is still no legend just to original map).
Ok... so I'm seeing you have to export in the legend window to get the legend to show up on the map but it's deleting my title, scale bar, etc. Do you have to add titles and scale bars in the legend window or is there a way to get this to show up on the print layout screen?
thanks dude
This overview asspect can also be part of research of Vertical wall type breakwater (harbor) with function of protect from siltaton. However, the distribution of sediment concentration in the ocean follows the law of being spase at the top and dense at the bootom, especially for the encircled harbor basin to the water exchange and reduces sediment depositiom, a new-type vertical wall breakwater with inclined that is modified. Satelite image and laboratory mixing is so good for research ~ multitasking like for civil and structural engineer and geology one. Also we can use Weibull function for spatial change of each component of surface sediment M1, M2, M3 and M4 form finest to coarsest models, respectively, are the four components from grain size 1.
Hi, thank you for the video. When I go to install the plugin with the "Install with ZIP" option, the error comes saying install the required Python remotoir_sesnus. I've tried doing this but am not successful. Do you have a vid for this?
what if the reference plane is inclined?
Such a great clear explanation of how that works! Thanks a lot
Focus Statistics tool may also do this
Thank you for this simple, yet thorough video.
